For New ParentsInformation For Your New Baby
Welcome and congratulations on the birth of your new baby! As your children’s healthcare providers, we are very excited for you and look forward to helping you in any way that we can. We would like to emphasize that your baby is an individual and no book or set of rules can adequately cover the needs and problems of each individual baby. Our philosophy is not to ask each newborn to conform to a set pattern of eating, sleeping, or other behavior. Rather, we believe that each child’s care should be individualized. There are many different approaches for newborn care and most will give satisfactory results.
Most helpful is a relaxed attitude toward problems concerning the care of your infant. Trust your feelings. The natural loving care parents give is much more important than all the techniques of child rearing that have ever been written. Your baby will give you the most important information – how she likes to be treated, talked to, held, and comforted. His unqualified love and absolute trust in you will help guide your instincts to many of the right responses in almost all circumstances.

Call if your baby develops any fever, poor feeding, is unusually irritable or lethargic, or has green or yellow vomiting.
Above all, enjoy your baby! Rocking, holding, and talking to her will help develop her personality. Soon she will be following you around with her eyes, smiling when you talk to her, and getting excited when she sees you!
